DS48

USCG/ABS Approved 48 Passenger Tourist Submarine with US Flag

The DS48 is a 48 passenger, ABS, and United States Coast Guard approved submarine. In 2002 members of DSA were retained to oversee and maintain the sub along with a 100 passenger ferry boat and small tug. DSA kept the submersible up to ABS standards and did a significant refit to the passenger ferry. The ferry was issued a Certificate of Inspection (COI) from the USCG and eventually sold to another buyer. In 2003 the DS48 was sold to Phuket Submarine of Thailand. DSA coordinated all aspects of the shipment and was employed to set up an operational base in Phuket and train the submersible crew.

Following the Tsunami which devastated Phuket and the surrounding areas Phuket Submarine has decided to move or possibly sell the submarine. Any interested parties should contact us for more details.
